Nisha Sharma

Nisha Sharma is a senior at George Mason University earning her degree in Bioengineering B.S., with a concentration in Healthcare Informatics. Throughout her undergraduate career, Nisha has obtained knowledge on information management in healthcare service organizations, and also has attained technical experience in MATLAB programming, Python, digital systems, digital logic gates and circuits, microelectronics, and integrated circuits. In addition to gaining experience in the classroom, Nisha has also has been involved as a research assistant in the Krasnow Institute for Advanced Studies at George Mason University, where she has conducted research in the laboratory of Dr. Nitin Agrawal. She has conducted research with breast cancer cells (MDA-MB-4175) and lung cancer cells (NCI-H460) by performing cell passaging, and collecting and analyzing data with the use of hemacytometers, flow cytometers, and other cell counter devices. Nisha will be graduating from George Mason University in May 2015.

Matt Tolbert

Matt Tolbert is a senior at George Mason University in the biomedical engineering program. He will be graduating May 2015 with a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering with a concentration in signals and systems and plans on pursuing his PhD in biomedical engineering after graduation. He served in the U.S. Army for 4 years and as a defense contractor for 2 years before he started his bachelor program.

Nawal Boufrou

Nawal Boufrou is a senior Bioengineering student at George Mason University. She will be graduating with a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering with a concentration in signals and systems. Before attending George Mason, Nawal earned her Associate’s Degree in Science from Northern Virginia Community College. Through the classes she has taken, Nawal has gained knowledge of statistics, Mathlab, Python, digital logic gates and circuits, bioengineering measurements and modeling and control of physiological systems.

Thanks to her  experience at HSBC Bank, Nawal learned how be a team player, achieve monthly goals, solve problems and be an active thinker.Nawal is planning to pursue a master’s degree in medical imaging after graduating. This semester, she will start assisting Dr. Vasiliki Ikonomidou with medical imaging research.

Andre B. Hop

Andre is a student at George Mason University, pursuing his degree in Bioengineering B.S, with a concentration in Biomedical Signals and Systems.  Prior to starting at George Mason University, he attended Northern Virginia Community College, where he earned an Associate Degree in Engineering. Andre has also attended the University of Buea in Cameroon, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics.  Andre’s   strong background in mathematics has given him various opportunities; he taught in Paris, France, and has also worked as a Math Tutor at the Northern Virginia Community College for two years. After graduation, he plans to do his Master Degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Bioengineering. Andre hopes to work in a medical setting, and serves as a consultant for companies overseas.
